Make Someone’s Day

What is something you can do today to make someone’s day?

I was at Café Gratitude last week.

The food is amazing but what I love most about the place is being surrounded by conscious individuals.  People really LOOK at you when they talk to you.  They are grateful, fulfilled, and generous with their love.  As soon as you walk in, you are instantly connected!

I was sitting at the counter eating a strawberry shortcake dessert.  It was deeeeelicious.  I still have dreams about that thing . . .

One of the guys behind the bar saw me eating it and by my third or fourth bite, he put a cup of fresh strawberries in front of me.

My eyebrows lifted, lips forced into a tight smile, and both of my hands went instantly over heart.  Although I knew exactly what was up, he still explained it, further confirming that we would be new BFFs.

He said, “The dessert only comes with one strawberry on it, but I like to have a little bite of strawberry with each bite of cake . . . you know like when you eat a burrito.  Take a bite of the burrito, and then a bite of tortilla chip.”

I love those instant connections.  It feels like – hey, there is someone in this world like me.  I never eat my burger and then the fries.  Bite of burger, couple french fries – repeat.  Matthew’s fresh strawberry gesture totally made my day.

When people do small things that totally make your day, it’s a great reminder of the impact others can have on your life, and in return, the impact you can have on others.

Thank you Matthew, for my cup of strawberries.  By the way, Matthew is an amazing clothing designer and designs one-of-a-kind wraps for his company Late Sunday Afternoon.  Check it out!

I love Cafe Gratitude! That is so sweet. Small gestures are always the best. I love finding out that someone else in the world ticks the same way I do!
