For years friends have told me that I need to visit Bali . . . that my soul would be awakened once I saw it.
They were right. It is GLORIOUS. The locals are conscious and mindful, as are the visitors it attracts. Awareness is put into everything – from praying, to eating, to harvesting, to taking care of one’s surroundings. It is truly a lovely place.

Can you imagine waking up to this every morning?! Breath taking.

Our morning routine consisted of walking through the rice fields. It was my favorite part of the day.

If there is any rice I’d want to eat, it’s rice coming from the farmers in Bali. You can taste the love they put into it.

I met Nyoman while walking back to our villa one day. He offered me a coconut and for the remainder of the trip, I stopped by everyday to hang out with him and his cat “Kitty.”

The FOOD in Bali is a dream come true. I love this stuff.

I went with my dad!! We used to travel a lot together when I was young. I was just going to to write that we haven’t had the opportunity to travel together in recent years but that’s not true. The opportunity is always there if you want it, you just have to choose to make it happen.
Boy am I glad we did. I love him so much.

Colors!!!

I like the guy on his cell phone.

Visiting Monkey Forest.

One of my BFFs Arsen happened to be in Bali at the same time so we met up! I love this pic. He looks terrified, and for good reason. Some of those monkeys are NOT messing around!

This guy might look like he’s smiling, but right after I snapped this he growled and lunged at me.

Little hands.

Sari Organik restaurant is an awesome spot for lunch. Heads up – it’s an 800 meter walk through the rice fields to get there, so I wouldn’t recommend going if you are tired or starving. ![]()

Arsen’s mommy was smart and hired a scooter to drive her up!

The walk is gorgeous though. Some really awesome scenery!

Yummmmmmmmmm.

Reduce, reuse, recycle. The to-go bags.

Dad telling me how to compose a shot.

He gave some pretty good tips. ![]()

Lake Batur.

Uluwatu Temple.

My “visit-a-temple” get up.

Someone’s dinner (not ours).

Making dad try a shot of wheat grass. Hahaha!

Rock Bar at the Ayana Resort.

The Ayana Resort is really nice but instead of showing a bunch of pictures, I will only post one. They emboss their freaking tissue. Someone takes the time to hand emboss something you are going to blow boogers into. It’s all about the details…

My masterpiece! Not really. I was just perfecting someone else’s.

Thanks to my sis for giving me a pedi before I left!

After visiting, I have decided that Bali is a spectacular place to get married. I had the chance to do some location scouting so if anyone is considering getting married there and would like venue suggestions, feel free to contact me. I have some recommendations. ![]()

Oh my gosh, I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Bali, and this just makes me want it THAT MUCH MORE!! Looks so amazing! Great photos, Christine!
Absolutely beautiful… and you know I especially appreciate the animal photos. First you inspired us to go to Bora Bora (if CC loves it, it must be amazing!)… now Bali?! Our travel calendars are filling up because of your inspiration
Love your pictures! What camera do you like to carry around for traveling?
Magical memories on the Island of the Gods…From rice paddies to the majestic coastline….intriguing temples and the gentle cast and crew that makes it rich in culture and unforgetable silhouette of scenery..
So glad you are sharing it with us all..we adore Bali!
Thanks Christine!
What a gorgeous, spiritually calming place! Putting it on my list of places to visit. Thank you for sharing your experience at such a beautiful place.
Also, from what I understand, primates smile generally out of fear. Maybe that’s why people sometimes laugh uncontrollably when they are on roller coaster rides
thank you, it was great being part of sharing this experience with you
I was thinking that Phil and I might not be able to take a honeymoon after our wedding because of budget concerns but geez, Christine! I think you might have changed my mind. Bali was the first place that came up when we discussed where we would want to go and these pics definitely make it a tough decision to go anywhere else. Amazing!
[...] Thanks dad, for taking this picture! It was taken during our trip to Bali. [...]
