Some people like doing things alone, others don’t. I’m like my dad – I appreciate some good old fashioned alone time.
As some of you know I went to Mexico recently for the Appirio President’s Club retreat. I went by myself and couldn’t help but laugh at some people’s reactions. It was exactly like in the movie “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” when Jason Segel goes to the restaurant for dinner and Jonah Hill (who plays the host) gives him a hard time about it. If you watch the trailer, part of the scene is in it (one minute 20 seconds into it).
No joke, the hotel staff said the same things to me!
Me: “Hi. Just me.”
Host at breakfast: “Only one?”
Me: “Yes”
Host: [pause] “Do you want a magazine?”
Me: “No it’s ok.”
Host: [pause] “Are you sure?”
Me: “Yeah it’s fine.”
Bell boy: “Next year you will come with your boyfriend!”
Haha! The trip was amazing and here are a few pics from my gig! More to come.
I was just making travel arrangements for the Cook Islands and New Zealand when I thought about writing this blog. I will be going there in May for Amy & Jay’s wedding! I’ve never been to either place so I thought to myself – “Dang, it would be nice to share this experience with someone.” I hear that Cook Islands is very similar to Tahiti, and Tahiti is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. It’s breathtaking, really. The water is so pristine and at night, the STARS. You feel like you are at one of those simulations at the Planetarium. Tens of THOUSANDS of stars. It’s so beautiful that you feel like crying.

The other day I saw on good old Facebook that a friend of a friend is planning an epic journey through Australia/NZ/Southeast Asia in the Spring, and he asked if anyone was gonna be in the area at the same time. I told him my travel plans, we went back and forth a few times, and BOOM! I gots me a travel buddy! On the same flight out to Rarotonga and everything. I love how things always just work out. It’ll be nice to share part of our travels together!
Alone time can be nice but sharing experiences is what life is all about. I don’t know Kyle super well but from what I do know, he’s pretty awesome. This is him a couple years ago at my Xmas party (he came with my buddy Ryan and that’s how I know him) winning an Edward doll during White Elephant. I also happened to pick the White Elephant gift that he brought which included a baby Santa hat (not sure why it was for a baby), B&J’s wine coolers, condoms, and something else that I won’t mention here. Based off that, I know this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship . . .

Christine, I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship! haha! So excited to share this trip with you!
…’beautiful “friendship?”…yeah,…right…;-).
so….jealous….want….your life…..
Teri, I’m going to kick your butt when I see you!
